Every year, Idadiv proudly presents one deserving member with a $500.00 Mary M. Jones Scholarship. Just last week, we named Leithan Gregory of Middleton this year’s recipient.
When I came into work this morning, I was greeted with a lovely thank you letter from Leithan. “You are an answer to my prayers of how am I going to pay for college and I can not explain very well with words my gratitude and how much I appreciate your decision.”
He plans to attend Northwest Nazarene University and study Pre-Physical Therapy.
I think it’s awesome that Idadiv is committed to helping our youth succeed. Between our generous scholarship, quarterly Brass magazines, and our friendly, helpful staff who are dedicated to getting our youth started out on the right financial foot, Idadiv is a great place for young people.
So, if you know a young person who will be either graduating from high school next year or attending college, be sure to let them know about the benefits of Idadiv membership. Not all financial institutions are as dedicated as Idadiv is to helping youth succeed!
Once again, congrats Leithan! Good luck at NNU!

It seems like every time I pay any attention to the news be it radio, television, internet, or newspaper, the topic is always somehow related to the economy and our bleak outlook. In a way it is frustrating, but then again it is what it is. Instead of focusing on all the negative, however, I look for something positive. I think I may have found something that we can all benefit from, too
In times like this, we can all use information about how to better manage our finances now and solidly plan for our future. Even for someone like myself who has worked in the financial industry for 12+ years, I look forward to educational opportunities that will broaden my horizons.
Idadiv is proud to be participating in the second annual Your Money Matters Financial Education Event this month at the Nampa Civic Center. Mark your calendars and plan to attend on Friday, April 18 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Free continental breakfast will be provided and you will have the opportunity to choose from four different courses presented each hour. According to the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition, sponsors of the event, it will have, “Something for everyone, regardless of your financial stage in life!”
Here is a list of the presentation topics:
- Savings and Banking
- Spending Plans
- Step-by-Step Investing
- Credit and Credit Scores
- Social Security
- Home Buying an Mortgage Loan Tips
- Consumer Debt Elimination
- Money Management and Financial Planning (offered in English and Spanish)
- Long Term Care
- Retirement Preservation and Distribution
Idadiv will be there with information about our credit union as well as ways to help you individually. There is no cost to attend this great event, but reservations are requested by April 14. To RSVP, please call 378-0200 extension 751.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you there and actually hoping to take in a presentation or two while I am there. I sincerely hope you will plan on attending!

Each year, Idadiv proudly partners with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive at our Nampa Branch. This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, April 11th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The Bloodmobile will be in our parking lot during that time for either appointments or walk-in donations. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, call Janet at 467-6583.I know it has been years since I have given blood, mostly just because I haven’t been asked to or seen a blood drive nearby. I was a regular donor in the past. In recent years (like so many other things) time just seems to get away from me. It’s not that I haven’t wanted to donate; I just simply haven’t made the time to do so.
I spent a little time this morning searching around the American Red Cross website. On it, they list a top ten reasons why people should give and a list of the top ten excuses why people don’t give. I will admit, my “excuses” listed above are actually numbers two and three on their list. Oops! What’s number one, you might ask? Check it out for your self at: http://www.givelife2.org/donor/top10.asp. Some of them are actually quite comical, but the truth in why we should all donate if we can is evident.
As their tagline says, the need is constant, the gratification instant, so give blood. We hope that you feel the same way and will help us make our blood drive a successful one. Feel free to email me at brandi@idadiv.com or call us at 467-6583 to schedule your appointment to donate blood. Sandwiches, juice, and cookies will be provided along with a special drawing just for those who donate (or at least attempt to!)
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 11th!
